Released on June 30, 2023, Sunray was Todd Binder’s debut single. The first of several planned releases recorded & mixed completely in analog at John Vanderslice’s legendary Tiny Telephone studio in San Francisco.
A sweet song, with a groove brought to life by the romantic tiki-twang of a pedal steel guitar, Sunray is decidedly a chin-up, chill out vibe track. It reminds us that we don’t need to know where the road leads – we only need to focus and keep going to shine.
“Sunray is a song that comes to me like a warm hug through rough-patches and lulls” says Todd Binder. “Sometimes it feels like you’re only going uphill. When I feel that doubt – this one nudges me forward. It’s a sorta ‘note-to-self: don’t stop/don’t die’ message that I think a lot of people might relate to or take comfort in.”
